About Me

Hi! I’m Sebastian (Seb) Zhao, a ml researcher. I’m currently doing research in pallas working with Coleman Hooper under Professor Kurt Keutzer. I like cooking, creating plated desserts, thrifting, playing guitar, and skateboarding. I’ve also been into postmodern philosophy recently, particularly Jean Baudrillard.

Research Interest

I’m broadly interested in efficient ML. I’ve been working recently on distributed sparse attention, dLLM test-time search, and processing in memory for LLMs. I’ve also worked on model compression and long context inference. I’m particularly interested in optimizing across models, systems, and hardware with the goal of democratizing ML!

In the past, I’ve worked on coding assistants, robotics, recommender systems and AI ethics.
